The terms that govern your use of FlashQuest

FlashQuest is operated by FLASH QUEST (PTY) LTD, a company based in South Africa. Contact us at support@flashquest.net.
By downloading, accessing, or using FlashQuest, you agree to these Terms of Service.
Use of FlashQuest
FlashQuest is a study and flashcard application that helps users create, organize, and review learning content through manual creation, AI-powered tools, spaced repetition, timed quizzes, and real-time multiplayer features.
You must be at least 13 years old to create or use a FlashQuest account or to use AI, cloud sync, social, multiplayer, publishing, or other connected features. FlashQuest may use a neutral age screen to enforce this requirement and may restrict or delete an ineligible account.
You may use local-only study features in guest mode without an account or connected services. Creating an eligible account enables additional features including cloud sync, social features, multiplayer, and community deck publishing.
You agree to use FlashQuest only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not interfere with the rights of others or the operation of the app.
FlashQuest Pro and AI Cards
FlashQuest Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription available monthly or annually. Core manual decks, Study, Quest, progress and sync remain free. The app shows the price in your local currency and the billing period before you confirm a purchase. An annual subscription is billed for the full year upfront. Starting with FlashQuest 2.6.0 for iOS, Pro is also available as a one-time Exam Pass, described below.
App Store subscriptions
For purchases made through the App Store, payment is charged to your Apple Account. A subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage your plan or cancel renewal through your App Store account settings. Cancelling renewal normally keeps Pro access available until the current paid period ends. Apple handles App Store billing and refund requests.
Free trial and introductory offers. The annual plan may include a 7-day free trial for eligible Apple Accounts. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your Apple Account is charged the annual price shown in the app when the trial ends, and the subscription then renews automatically each year. FlashQuest may also offer an eligible account a one-time reduced price for the first month of the monthly plan; the app shows that price and the regular monthly price before you confirm, and after the first month the subscription renews at the regular monthly price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal. Apple decides eligibility: an Apple Account can receive only one introductory offer, such as a free trial or a reduced first period, per subscription group. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
Exam Pass. Starting with FlashQuest 2.6.0 for iOS, you can buy an Exam Pass: a one-time App Store purchase, charged to your Apple Account at the price shown in the app (US$7.99 in the United States), that provides 30 days of Pro. An Exam Pass is not a subscription. It does not renew automatically, so there is nothing to cancel, and Pro access from the pass ends 30 days after purchase. Buying another pass while one is active adds 30 days after the current pass ends; buying one after a pass has ended starts a new 30-day period. While you also have an active Pro subscription, that subscription provides your Pro access. Apple handles App Store billing and refund requests; a refunded pass no longer provides Pro access. Use Restore purchases to reconnect a pass bought with the same Apple Account.
Google Play subscriptions
On Android, in-app Pro subscriptions use Google Play billing and are charged through your Google Account. The app and Google Play purchase screen show your local price, billing period and any applicable trial or introductory price before you confirm. Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel; annual plans are billed for the full year upfront.
Eligible Google Play customers may be offered a 7-day annual free trial or a reduced first month on a monthly plan. The offer shown at checkout states its duration, when payment starts and the regular renewal price. After the trial or introductory period, the plan renews at that regular price unless you cancel before renewal. Eligibility and availability are determined for the selected Google Play offer; Apple's introductory-offer rules do not apply to Google Play purchases.
To manage or cancel an Android subscription, open Settings > FlashQuest Pro > Manage subscription, or Google Play subscriptions using the Google Account that purchased it. Cancellation normally preserves access until the end of the current paid period. Deleting the app or your FlashQuest account does not cancel renewal. Use Restore purchases in FlashQuest Pro with the purchasing Google Account to reconnect access. Refund requests follow Google Play's refund policies; contact support@flashquest.net if you need help.
AI cards and guest access
FlashQuest measures AI deck creation and imports in AI cards: each flashcard that AI makes for you uses one AI card. Free guest service identities and registered accounts receive 25 AI cards per UTC calendar month, and Pro includes 400. A newly registered account receives a one-time bonus of 25 AI cards, used before the monthly allowance. The app shows how many AI cards a request can use before you proceed. AI cards refill at the start of each UTC calendar month, do not roll over, and are not cash or transferable currency. Upgrading increases the monthly limit without resetting AI cards already used that month. AI study-help features have separate daily allowances shown in the app.
A generation request reserves its AI cards when it starts and is settled to the number of flashcards actually made. Repeating the same request does not charge twice; a confirmed failed generation returns its reserved AI cards. An interrupted request with an unconfirmed outcome can remain reserved while its result is reconciled. Contact support if your balance appears incorrect.
Purchasing, restoring and using Pro as a guest do not require a FlashQuest registration or birth date. A service identifier supports purchase verification and AI card accounting; it does not unlock registered account or Community features. AI content is sent to our AI providers, OpenAI and Anthropic, only after the applicable in-app permission.
Use Restore purchases in Settings > FlashQuest Pro to reconnect an existing purchase from the same store account. Deleting FlashQuest or your FlashQuest account does not itself cancel an Apple or Google Play subscription; manage renewal with the store where you purchased.
Website subscriptions: coming soon
Website checkout is not currently available. This section explains the planned website offer and will apply to website purchases when they become available. Current plans and availability are shown on our Pro pricing page.
Website memberships require a FlashQuest account eligible for connected features, age 13 or older. Sign in with the same account in the app. Pro becomes available on that account after payment verification. A website purchase does not cancel or replace a separately billed Apple or Google Play subscription.
When available, website subscriptions will be sold by Paddle as merchant of record, under the Paddle Buyer Terms presented at checkout. Monthly and annual subscriptions renew until canceled; annual subscriptions are paid in full upfront. The final currency, tax, total and billing interval will be shown before payment.
Manage a website subscription or stop future renewals using the billing link in your Paddle receipt. Ordinary cancellation normally preserves access through the paid period. Cancellation is not a refund request. See our Refunds and cancellations policy for the applicable process and consumer rights.
A full approved refund of the current paid transaction removes the Pro access supplied by that transaction. A partial refund normally leaves its paid period active. A payment dispute may suspend the affected membership while it is resolved. Independent access from another valid purchase is assessed separately; core free study features remain available, subject to account status and these Terms.
User Content
You are responsible for content you upload, submit, create, or share through FlashQuest, including text, notes, images, flashcards, and decks.
You represent that you have the right to submit that content and that it does not violate applicable law or the rights of others.
You retain any rights you hold in your content. You give FlashQuest a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, copy, process, format, and display it only as needed to provide the features you choose, maintain the service, and address safety or legal issues. Service providers may perform these tasks for us under the Privacy Policy. This permission does not transfer ownership of your content to FlashQuest.
Importing notes or generating a private deck does not itself publish it. Private material is processed for the features you request; it is not made available in the community library unless you choose to publish. A right to read or privately use material does not necessarily include a right to upload, reproduce, or publicly share it.
Community Decks and Reporting
By choosing to publish a deck, you additionally permit FlashQuest to display and distribute that deck and its accompanying title, description, and publisher identity through the app, community website, and deck-sharing previews. You permit people who can access the published deck to save, copy, and adapt it for their own personal study. This does not give them permission to sell or republish your content unless you separately allow it or applicable law permits it. You must have the rights needed to grant these permissions, including for images and other material within the deck. Attribution alone is not permission.
Public decks may be discovered by others, including through the website. Unlisted decks are shared by link and are not a confidential storage option: recipients can pass the link on. You may unpublish your decks at any time. Unpublishing stops new access to the published source, but does not remotely erase independent copies that other users have already saved. Their permission to use lawfully saved copies for personal study continues; linked images or other remotely hosted material may become unavailable. This does not prevent action on unlawful content or applicable privacy requests.
The Table currently accepts text-only deck publication while image moderation is being prepared. Images may still be used in private study decks.
Users may report published decks for inappropriate content, spam, copied content, or inaccuracy. Decks that receive multiple reports may be automatically hidden. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms.
Rights holders and their authorized representatives can use our copyright reporting process without a FlashQuest account. We review complaints, may restrict access while investigating, and provide a way for affected publishers to challenge a decision. Repeated infringement may result in loss of publishing access or account termination. See the Community Guidelines.
AI-Generated Content
FlashQuest may generate flashcards or study materials using AI systems. AI-generated content may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your specific use. You are responsible for reviewing and using generated content with judgment.
The same content-rights and community rules apply to AI-assisted decks. Using AI does not establish ownership or make copied or restricted source material free to share. Check factual accuracy, remove personal information, and confirm the rights to both source material and output before publishing.
Acceptable Use
You may not use FlashQuest to:
- Violate any law or regulation
- Infringe intellectual property or privacy rights
- Upload harmful, abusive, or unlawful content
- Publish decks containing inappropriate, offensive, or misleading material
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or compromise the app or its services
- Abuse the reporting system to target legitimate content
Account Deletion
You can request account deletion at any time directly in the app (Profile > Account > Delete Account for registered accounts; Settings > Danger zone > Delete guest account & data for connected guest accounts). FlashQuest first removes and verifies stored cloud files, handles a retained Apple authorization credential when applicable, and then finalizes relational account deletion. The app reports a request as complete only after the service confirms these steps. A completed deletion is permanent. Limited records may remain when necessary for abuse prevention, moderation enforcement, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or dispute resolution, as described in the Privacy Policy. If you cannot access the app, contact privacy@flashquest.net.
Service Availability
We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of FlashQuest at any time, with or without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
Disclaimer
FlashQuest is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FlashQuest and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the app.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to FlashQuest if these Terms are violated or if necessary to protect the app, its users, or our operations.
Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Continued use of FlashQuest after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
